Elie Hirschfeld Personal Life and Family: A Brief Biography
Elie Hirschfeld is renowned for his legendary contributions to real estate development. However, philanthropy, art, theater, fitness, and family are all equally important to this famous New York City native.
Charity
has always been important to Mr. Hirschfeld, and he is a longtime
supporter of healthcare, children's health, education, medicine, and Jewish causes. Elie's Hirschfeld Family Foundation was created specifically to support his philanthropic causes.
Mr. Hirschfeld is an honored trustee of several important New York City hospitals,
such as St. Luke's, Roosevelt Hospitals, and Beth Israel. Additionally, he serves as trustee emeritus of both Long Island University and Brown University, his alma mater. In recognition of his numerous contributions to education, Brown University
announced the Elie Hirschfeld Building in May of 2016.
Mr. Hirschfeld holds positions on the Committees and Boards of Directors of many other legendary institutions. These include The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Lincoln Center President’s Council, The Rockefeller University Council, New York University’s Real Estate Roundtable and The
Central Park Conservancy. Elie Hirschfeld even represented his own Park East Synagogue when he went to visit with Pope
Francesco at the Great Synagogue of Rome in January of 2016.
Sarah J Schlesinger and Elie Hirschfeld were married in 2011, and he has five children from a previous marriage. Mr. Hirschfeld is the son of late real estate developer Abraham Hirschfeld.
